Do you offer delivery? Yes. For delivery within 10 miles of NE71 6RL (Wooler) we charge £10 per e-bike. For delivery 11 to 20 miles from NE71 6RL we charge £20 per e-bike.If you want delivery further afield please contact us to discuss your requirements.
How far can I ride? Experience the freedom of riding with our bikes, equipped with a fully charged battery. The distance you can travel on a single charge varies based on several factors, such as your chosen level of assistance, trail gradient, your weight, and even the gear you carry. Generally, you can expect to cover between 30 to 50 miles, making every ride an adventure tailored to your preferences. Enjoy the journey and explore the trails with confidence!
How much does it cost? Discover our straightforward pricing options designed to meet your cycling needs. Enjoy a 1 hour ride for just £20, up to 3 hours for £30, or make the most of your adventure with a full day for £40 (bikes returned same day). Do the bikes have gears? Discover the perfect blend of traditional cycling and modern technology with our e-bikes. Each model is equipped with gears, just like a standard bike, allowing you to manage your pedal input effectively. The power assistance levels can be easily adjusted using a simple “+/-” button on the handlebars, cycling through various modes to suit your ride. Remember, it's always best to shift gears before engaging the power for an optimal cycling experience!
Do I need to pedal? Experience the freedom of cycling with our bikes that enhance your pedalling without the need for a throttle. With a simple push button control on the handlebar, you can easily switch between different power assistance modes to suit your ride. Remember, the assistance kicks in only when you're pedalling, ensuring a natural and enjoyable cycling experience. Get ready to explore the outdoors like never before! The amount of assistance can be varied by a simple push of a button.
What if I run out of charge? Experience the freedom of our electric bikes! While we provide a full charge, the duration and distance you can ride depend on various factors (check out our section on ‘How far can I ride?’). Once the battery is depleted, your bike will still function as a regular bike, but without pedal assistance. You can still make your way home, though be prepared for a more challenging ride!
How fast can I go? E-bikes in the UK are subject to specific regulations, allowing a maximum motor power of 250 watts and a speed limit of 15.5 mph (25 kph). While riders can exceed these speeds, it's important to note that the motor will cease to assist once the limit is reached. This ensures a balance between performance and safety for all road users. Always stay informed about local laws to enjoy your ride responsibly!
Is there an age limit? Please note that you must be 14 years or older to ride an e-bike legally in the UK. If a child aged 14 or older wishes to use one of our e-bikes, an adult must be responsible for the rental. Safety and fun are our top priorities!
Will I get a demo? Our staff will guide you through the essentials, including power modes, the visual display, and walk assist features if applicable. We'll ensure you know what to expect from your ride. Don't hesitate to ask any questions—we're here help!
Are the bikes heavy? E-bikes are designed to handle the additional weight from the motor and battery units, which means they are generally heavier than traditional bikes. However, once you're riding, the assistance provided makes the extra weight less noticeable. These bikes are well-balanced, allowing them to handle similarly to standard bicycles. While it may take a little time to adjust, most riders acclimatise quickly and enjoy the benefits of electric assistance.
What is walk assist? Experience the convenience of our e-bikes equipped with walk assist. This innovative feature is designed to help you effortlessly navigate steep inclines while dismounted. With walk assist engaged, your bike will gently propel itself forward at a slow walking pace, making it easier to walk up those challenging slopes. Enjoy a smoother ride and tackle any terrain with confidence!
What paperwork do I need? To ensure the safety and security of our e-Bikes, we require all renters to present a valid photo ID. Please have your ID ready when your e-Bikes are delivered or collected. Remember, only the lead hirer needs to show their ID. Thank you for your cooperation!
What if I need to cancel? Cancellations will incur the following charges: If you cancel up to one week before the hire date, you will receive a full refund. For cancellations made up to three days prior, a 50% refund will be issued. If you cancel one day before the hire date, a 25% refund applies. Please note that cancellations on the day of hire will be charged the full hire rate. While we will do our best to offer an alternative date, this may not always be feasible.
Do I have to wear a helmet? Please remember that wearing a helmet is mandatory at all times while riding one of our e-bikes. We offer helmets free of charge for your convenience. If you prefer to use your own helmet, feel free to do so. Your safety is our top priority!
What is included in a hire? Get ready for your next adventure with our comprehensive hire package! With each hire, you’ll receive; a bike helmet, bike lights, and a bike lock. Plus, enjoy peace of mind with our emergency rescue service. If you book a multi-day hire you will also receive a charger.
What is emergency rescue? If you experience a breakdown, puncture, or any issue that impacts your ride, we're here to help. make sure you're on one of our recommended routes and we'll come to you promptly. Your safety and convenience are top priorities.
Are Synch Go E-bikes road legal? Our 250w bikes are limited to 15.5 mph and comply with UK legislation – you don’t need a licence, tax or insurance to ride one and they can be ridden anywhere you would ride a normal bike.
What happens if my bike gets damaged? While our e-bikes and equipment are in your care, you are responsible for any damage that may occur, up to the retail value of the damage. We take pride in the excellent condition of our e-bikes and want to keep them that way. Riding on the road and our designated routes significantly reduces the chances of damage. Rest assured, for any normal wear and tear we will not hold you accountable.
What happens if my bike is stolen? If your e-bike is lost or stolen and it was not secured to an immovable object through the frame (while unattended), you will be liable for the full retail value of the e-bike(s) involved. We treat thefts with utmost seriousness and will notify the police, seeking your cooperation in both our investigation and theirs. To prevent any potential liabilities, please make sure your e-bike is securely locked.
Can I ride after consuming alcohol? Explore the fabulous pubs in North Northumberland, but please remember to leave your e-bike at your accommodation. Riding our e-bikes while drinking is strictly prohibited. Additionally, if you are under the influence of any drugs, unless prescribed by your doctor and confirmed to not impair your riding ability, you must not ride your e-bike. Your safety is our priority!
Can I book on the day? Please note that same-day bookings cannot be made online. However, we are happy to accommodate you whenever possible. We recommend contacting us before your visit, as we are often out and about.
Can I ride in the wet? Of course! Our Super Monkey bikes are designed to handle the worst of the British weather. All of the electronics are splash resistant to give you peace of mind when riding or commuting in the rain. It’s worth mentioning that we don’t recommend riding in salt water or submerging the electronics, though!
How easy are the bikes to operate? Riding an e-bike is as easy as riding a normal bike, just a lot more fun! You don’t need to worry about the hills anymore! Use the gears and pedal as you would on any bike and the motor will kick in to give you extra speed on the flat and enough power to cruise up hills effortlessly.
How do I claim my hire refund? To claim your hire refund simply purchase your Synch E-Bike directly from our website (Northumberland E-Bikes). Once your order is processed we will refund your hire (the refund is the equivalent of your hire cost for 1 bike, i.e. a 4 hour hire would entitle you to a maximum £40 refund).
